Each movie is carefully paired to a Hollyweed flower strain or one of our premium vape carts, try our delta 8 pre-rolls hawaiian haze so that you have less planning to deal with and instead get straight to the good vibes.

Disclaimer: I’ve included the Rotten Tomatoes score for each flick because sometimes the stoniest movies aren’t exactly Oscar winners. I did not use these ratings to determine the order of this list!

#17: Cats (2019)

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 19% Critic vs. 53% Audience.

I know we’re off to a wild start here, but hear me out before you completely ditch the Jellicle Ball. This CGI-filled twist on a classic Broadway favorite is star-studded (featuring cast members like Judi Dench and Ian McKellen) and directed by Oscar-award-winning Tom Hooper, famous for The King’s Speech and Les Mis.

I’m not going to lie to you — this movie is….bad. But that’s part of what makes it so silly and fun to watch, especially after indulging in some cannabis like delta 8 gummies! It’s weird, a bit too creepy for most peoples’ tastes, and a prime example of “what happens when no one says no,” according to Zach Kornfeld (Try Guy and fellow Cats enthusiast). If you like musicals and want something to laugh and make fun of with your friends, this one might be worth checking out!

Best Paired With:

This movie has high energy, so I recommend a sativa or sativa-dominant hybrid to accompany your watch. With vibrant cherry and apple notes, Hollyweed’s Sour Space Candy Delta 8 Hemp Flower will make it much easier to keep up with the likes of Mr. Mistoffelees and Macavity.

#16: Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982)

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 78% Critic vs. 80% Audience.

This 80’s SoCal party movie with a cult following features a young Sean Penn, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Phoebe Cates! Fast Times will transport you back to high school glory days as you follow the adventures and mishaps of San Diego sophomore students. It’s goofy, doesn’t take itself too seriously, and is full of teen drama!

Best Paired With:

Main character Jeff Spicoli (played by Mr. Penn), is the epitome of a Californian surfing stoner dude. Catch his vibe by smoking some Zkittles, which is believed to have originated in Mendocino, California. Zkittles is a tropical indica-dominant hybrid perfect for coasting through your evening.

#15: Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001)

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 53% Critic vs. 75% Audience.

This best friend flick follows Jay (Jason Mewes) and Silent Bob (Kevin Smith) as they travel to Hollywood to stop a film based on them from ruining their image. Based in Kevin Smith’s View Askewniverse, this epic cross-country adventure features big Box Office names like Ben Affleck, Will Ferrell, Jason Lee, and Matt Damon.

Best Paired With:

Did you know that this Jay and Silent Bob movie (and its cover art) are heavily inspired by Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back? Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill even makes an appearance as Cock-Knocker. So to enjoy this movie as Kevin Smith intended, I suggest trying out our D8 Skywalker OG Hemp Flower! This Sativa-dominant hybrid is enough to send you on a galactic trip into space.

#14: Half Baked (1998)

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 29% Critic vs. 81% Audience.

Half Baked, a Dave Chappelle classic, will have you cry-laughing yourself off the couch! The plot centers around three best buds who sell stolen weed to get their fourth friend out of jail after he kills an NYC police horse by feeding it fast food. Yeah — you read that right!

Best Paired With:

Half Baked is a popular 90’s favorite, just like Jack Herer! Jack Herer is an energizing sativa-dominant hybrid that’s peppery and fruity. Try Hollyweed’s Delta 8 Jack Herer Vape Cart to experience the nostalgic bliss for yourself.

#13: Tenacious D in: The Pick of Destiny (2006)

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 52% Critic vs. 67% Audience.

A rock opera comedy for the ages, Tenacious D in: The Pick of Destiny is arguably one of Jack Black and Kyle Gass’s best projects. Rockers and friends JB and KG embark on an epic adventure to track down a guitar pick with magical powers to form the greatest rock band ever. If you’re a big music head looking for bigger laughs, this one’s definitely for you!

Best Paired With:

Big energy’s needed to keep up with the Legend of the Pick of Destiny. And what’s better for enjoying icon Kyle Gass than Sour Diesel? This sativa-dominant hybrid D8 flower is tangy, uplifting, and just as sweet as all the riffs and bass lines you’ll be jamming out to.

#12: Inherent Vice (2014)

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 73% Critic vs. 52% Audience.

If you’re into solving mysteries and are a fan of drama with a heavy dose of mind-bending plot, you’ve got to check out Joaquin Phoenix in Inherent Vice. He stars as a private investigator looking for his former girlfriend, Shasta, and uses marijuana to fuel his journey down the rabbit hole. This one’s a little heavier, so bear that in mind before you buckle up for the ride!

Best Paired With:

This neo-noir mystery’s bohemian surfer vibes pair nicely with Hawaiian Haze D8 Hemp Flower. With smooth, citrusy, tropical notes, this fruity hybrid will help you reach the top of your detective game.

#11: American Ultra (2015)

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 44% Critic vs. 45% Audience.

Ready for a trip? Jesse Eisenberg’s character Mike sure wasn’t. American Ultra follows a hardcore stoner and graphic novelist named Mike, who learns that he’s an undercover C.I.A. killing machine while stoned. What a way to kill a high!

Best Paired With:

After unlocking his abilities, Mike goes totally apeshit on his newfound secret agent enemies. Because of this, it only feels right to recommend Gorilla Glue D8 Hemp Flower for this stoner film! The chill, 60/40 indica-dominant hybrid is the perfect balance to this action-packed movie.

#10: Fantasia (1940)

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 95% Critic vs. 83% Audience.

Sometimes, the perfect afternoon experience entails hitting a vape and watching something truly beautiful. Coming in at number 10, I present to you, Fantasia. This underrated Disney classic is an animated anthology filled with richly colored hand-painted scenes. Accompanied by an orchestral soundtrack performed by Stokowski and the Philadelphia Orchestra, Fantasia is a feast for all your senses and will leave you in awe.

Best Paired With:

If you’re anything like me, Fantasia feels like childhood. To take full advantage of the nostalgia, I suggest pairing this timeless movie with our Fruity Cereal D8 Vape Cart. Fruity Cereal is just as deliciously sweet as your memories of Saturday morning cartoons, with a fruity, creamy, and euphoric lift.

#9: A Goofy Movie (1995)

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 61% Critic vs. 70% Audience.

Well, golly, speaking of cartoonish classics! If you identify as a millennial or a 90’s kid, you already know the cultural importance of A Goofy Movie. Following Goofy and his 14-year-old son Max on a cross-country adventure with lots of hiccups (or rather, “hyuks”), this groovy flick has plenty of music, dancing, and wholesome family bonding, making it so much more than just another children’s film. If you’re in the mood to get choked up one second and jam out on your couch the next, A Goofy Movie is for you!

Best Paired With:

What better treat to pair with a rad Powerline set than vaping some Delta 8 Sunset Sherbet? This D8 vape cart is reminiscent of a tropical summertime popsicle with sweet orange and tangy pineapple notes. Its portability makes it great for bringing along to real concert sets, too!

#8: Pineapple Express (2008)

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 68% Critic vs. 73% Audience.

If you’re already a big fan of stoner movies, there’s a good chance you’ve hopped on the Pineapple Express before! One of the godfathers of stoner comedy, the Sony Pictures film features Seth Rogen and James Franco in their comedy-duo prime. After Dale (Seth Rogen) witnesses a murder, he and his drug dealer, Saul (James Franco), must escape from crooked cops and Drug Lord Ted Jones before they’re next. Filled with suspense and hilarity, Pineapple Express will have you at the edge of your seat right before you fall out of it laughing.

Best Paired With:

What better way to enjoy a stoner comedy than with your fave protagonists’ strain of choice? That’s right, Hollyweed’s got you covered with a round-trip ticket on the Pineapple Express! You can expect earthy and fruity notes from this potent D8 vape cart.

#7: Friday (1995)

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 78% Critic vs. 91% Audience.

Have you ever had a day where literally anything that could go wrong did? That’s Friday for you! This ’90s comedy flick is packed with iconic lines and features a soundtrack full of hip-hop hits. Featuring Ice Cube and Chris Tucker, Friday was directed by film legend F. Gary Gray, who’s also directed some music videos (like TLC’s “Waterfalls” and Outkast’s “Ms. Jackson”) that are even better with some D8 by your side!

Best Paired With:

Did you know that Friday was also Ice Cube’s screenwriting debut? As a nod to the “Super OG” himself, I’m recommending OG Kush. This strain of Delta 8 bud is a zesty and woodsy sativa-dominant hybrid that’ll keep you feeling bright and energized any day of the week.

#6: Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle (2004)

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 74% Critic vs. 80% Audience.

This list wouldn’t be complete without a Harold & Kumar movie! As someone who’s gone on many a midnight food venture after sharing a jay with friends, Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle is as relatable a premise you can get. Harold & Kumar features the lowest of lowbrow humor that will keep you watching despite what’s on the screen (yeah, I’m talking about the “Battle Sh*ts” scene — the definition of “gross-out comedy”). John Cho and Kal Penn are a captivating duo, and if you’ve never seen them in action together, I highly recommend giving this a watch.

Best Paired With:

To offset the wild adventures (and all that fast food), I recommend you pair this with the fruity Blackberry D8 vape cart! This hybrid cart is perfect for daytime use and will leave you feeling relaxed and buzzing without making you sleepy.

#5: Cheech & Chong’s Up In Smoke (1978)

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 47% Critic vs. 82% Audience.

Coming in hot at number five, we’ve got Up in Smoke. Arguably the first true stoner movie ever, Tommy Chong and Cheech Marin hit the road as “Man” and “Pedro” in this hit. After evading imprisonment for marijuana possession, Man and Pedro tumble into a series of even wilder adventures that lead them to perform in a Battle of the Bands. If you’re a fan of smoking and a bigger fan of cannabis culture, this one’s a must-see!

Best Paired With:

Up In Smoke is energetic, fun, and will keep you on your toes, so what better strain to pair it with than Venice Haze? This premium HHC Vape Cart is perfect for daytime hangouts and will help you buckle in for the long ride from Mexico to sunny Los Angeles.

#4: The Big Lebowski (1998)

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 83% Critic vs. 93% Audience.

Sometimes, all we want to do is lay back and relax, but the world moves too quickly for us to catch a break. This is exactly what happens when Jeff “The Dude” Lebowski is mistaken for a millionaire of the same name! Brought to us by the Coen Brothers (the celebrated creators of Fargo), The Big Lebowski is a critically acclaimed cult classic with a star-studded cast. This slapstick comedy has stood the test of time, featuring actors like Jeff Bridges, John Goodman, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Julianne Moore, and many more.

Best Paired With:

Want to feel just as laid back as The Dude? Northern Lights hemp flower may be the right strain choice for you. Hollyweed’s Northern Lights Delta 8 Hemp Flower is an indica-dominant hybrid with a unique spicy-sweet aroma. Its earthy taste will help you abide as you make your way through this larger-than-life adventure.

#3: Scooby-Doo (2002)

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 30% Critic vs. 39% Audience.

Number three goes out to our favorite hungry stoner Shaggy (played by Matthew Lillard), and his trusty pup, Scoob! From Warner Bros. Pictures, this live-action movie is a recreation of the animated series that many of us grew up with. A perfect combination of mystery, comedy, monsters, and stony-nerdy vibes, Scooby-Doo is a hit for all ages.

Did you know that the movie Scooby-Doo was meant to have an R-rating, though? The film (written by Guardians of the Galaxy writer/director James Gunn) was originally geared toward adults who had grown up with Scooby-Doo but was made milder to please studios. Luckily, plenty of innuendos were left within the flick, helping it remain a staple amongst kids and adults!

Best Paired With:

Pop open your own jar of Scooby Snacks and become a part of the gang yourself with Cookies! This Cookies D8 hemp flower (also commonly known as “Girl Scout Cookies”) is an indica-dominant hybrid that’ll remind you of a nutty, baked treat. You can expect a wave of chilled-out calm from this sweet strain — like, wow! Totally groovy.

#2: Dazed and Confused (1993)

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 92% Critic vs. 90% Audience.

A strong contender for number one, I’m awarding second place to Dazed and Confused. Set in the ’70s, this movie is full of stars — from Matthew McConaughey and Ben Affleck to Milla Jovovich and Renee Zellweger; many actors found their start here! An almost perfect portrayal of what it was like to be a teen back in the day, Dazed and Confused is the epitome of a summer nostalgia movie.

While it is a stoner movie, Dazed and Confused deserves recognition as one of the best coming-of-age movies coming out of the ’90s and is underrated for how well critics and audiences received it. Though it doesn’t transcend the times super well, it’s a perfect stoner movie that’ll make you laugh and remember your own golden days fondly.

Best Paired With:

For teen energy levels, you’ll want to pair this flick with something bright, fresh, and trendy, like Candy Skies. Hollyweed’s Candy Skies HHC Vape Cartridge has a sun-kissed sugar cereal taste and a tropical aroma that’ll transport you right into your own summer break.

Honorable Mentions

Before we give our number one pick, it’s only fair to mention a few of our favorite Honorable Mentions. These either didn’t make the cut because they’re TV series or fit better into their own special category, “Trippiest Fan Faves” (a.k.a. “The David Lynch Subcategory”).

Stoniest TV Show Hits

If you’re looking for a smaller hit to enjoy, these TV shows perfectly fit the bill!

Live-Action:

  • That 70’s Show
  • Weeds
  • The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross
  • Planet Earth

Animated:

  • Adventure Time
  • Spongebob Squarepants
  • Aqua Teen Hunger Force
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Trippiest Fan-Faves

If you’re into the kind of stoner movie that’ll trip you out and make you think about life, then these are for you! They may be a bit heavier for those who haven’t seen them before, so I recommend giving them a pre-hemp watch before hitting a vape or joint alongside them.

  • Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998)
  • Eraserhead (1977)
  • Alice in Wonderland (1951)
  • Mulholland Drive (2001)
  • Lost Highway (1997)

#1: Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure (1989)

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 81% Critic vs. 75% Audience.

Finally, first place goes to…Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure! There are a couple of reasons why this science fiction movie came out on top above all others. First, casting: Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter make a perfect best friend stoner duo who solve their present-day problems with historically cool solutions. The odds aren’t in their favor, but they always stumble back on top (and everyone loves rooting for a good underdog).

Aside from how fun it is to time travel with these teen pals, Bill & Ted is one of the most wholesome bro movies ever. Even when the boys are having a bad time, this movie has the best vibes from start to finish. The protagonists are encouraging, hopeful, and often silly, making this a fun watch for people of all ages and backgrounds. It doesn’t take itself too seriously and does a great job at making history fun to watch.

This movie has it all — you can geek out, buckle up for an adventure, get cozy for laughs, and even enjoy a pinch of romance while rooting for Bill & Ted to succeed. If you’ve never seen it, grab some Delta 8 and kick your feet up because you’re in for a treat. If you already love it, you’ll be happy to know that there’s a Bogus Journey sequel and a more recent third installment: Bill & Ted Face the Music!

Best Paired With:

Since Bill & Ted is so well-rounded and has it all, it only felt right to pair it with a 50/50 hybrid. That’s why I recommend Hollyweed’s Lifter! This strain of top-notch Delta 8 Hemp Flower has a sweet and sour aroma and is earthy and lemony. It’ll remind you of spring while transporting you to the redwoods for perfect, balanced bliss.
